Worcester interim agreement ratification meeting

A bare-bones interim agreement with New Media affecting the Worcester Unit goes before members in a ratification vote set for noon Friday, March 27

The meeting will be in the third-floor conference room of BayState Bank building, 32 Franklin St., Worcester.

It will continue with discussion of upcoming editor layoffs and other items of concern

All current members in good standing may attend. New members may enroll at the door and past-due payments may be made up to enter as well.

The agreement includes a grievance/arbitration procedure, “just cause” discipline/discharge provision and no strike / no lockout clause similar to those previously in force. Negotiations for a comprehensive contract to better work conditions and terms are under way.
